No one was hurt in a seven-hour standoff between police and a Powder Springs resident that began Wednesday at 1:30 a.m., said Officer Michael Bowman, spokesman for the Cobb County police.

When Cobb County police responded to a report of a fight between a husband and wife at a house on Spring Mountain Lane, which is off of Lost Mountain Road, Bowman said the male suspect barricaded himself inside his house.

The suspect, whose name was not released, did not threaten police, but he refused to comply with police orders, Bowman said. Cobb SWAT and negotiators also responded to the scene.

The suspect is in police custody, Bowman said.

The woman inside the house was taken to “a local area hospital” and treated for unspecified injuries, Bowman said.
