Bond was set at $90,000 for Emmerli Latrice Wilcoxson, 40, of Decatur, who was taken into custody Friday after being treated and released from Grady Memorial Hospital.
Booking reports show Wilcoxson’s list of charges includes theft by taking, aggravated assault, fleeing, obstruction and interference with government property along with several traffic offenses, including failure to maintain lane, reckless driving and speeding.
After resisting arrest Aug. 10, police say Wilcoxson stole the police cruiser and sped down Interstate 75, which led officers on a high-speed chase where speeds reached over 100 miles per hour, Cobb Police Sgt. Dana Pierce previously said.
Wilcoxson caused several minor wrecks, Pierce said, until she eventually crossed all lanes of traffic on southbound I-75 near Spring Street, resulting in a serious crash involving four vehicles. Two people involved with the wreck had to be freed from their vehicles.
Despite having injuries to her head, Pierce said Wilcoxson got out of the car and assumed an aggressive posture as she moved in the officers’ direction. The officers fought with her and she was eventually subdued.
Pierce said all lanes of southbound I-75 were blocked for about an hour as a result of the wreck.
Wilcoxson was under the influence of “synthetic cannibinoid” during the ordeal, according to the arrest warrant.
