The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that Superior Court Judge Jerry Baxter wants attorneys to eliminate ineligible people from a pool of 400. For example, Baxter says he found in questionnaires that at least one person no longer lives in the county and another is scheduled for a military deployment next week.
Attorneys began meeting with prospective jurors Monday to select 12 jurors and 11 alternates.
Prosecutors have said they expect the trial to last for months.
Twelve former administrators, principals, testing coordinators and teachers face racketeering charges. Former superintendent Beverly Hall's trial was delayed due to cancer.
