Greater Community Church of God in Christ is sponsoring two upcoming events to highlight its concern for the health of the Cobb community.

On Aug. 16, the church will sponsor a Community-Wide Health Fair to distribute information about health- related topics including AIDS, diabetes, high blood pressure, etc. Representatives will be on hand to perform screenings for these diseases and to provide low-cost sports physicals for school-age children. There will also be representatives on-site to register families for Georgia’s PeachCare Program. Healthy snacks and refreshments will be provided. Dr. Omar Danner, Morehouse Trauma Surgeon will speak on “Youth Violence and its effect on Society and the Church.”

Greater Community Church will also sponsor a blood drive on Aug. 17 titled “Blood Sunday.”
