Local woman takes part in writers conference

Sally Apokedak, of Marietta, will teach a coaching class entitled, “Children’s Novels: What Do Editors and Agents Want to See in Middle Grade and Young Adult Novels?” She will also take part in the agent panel during the Oregon Christian Writers Summer Coaching Conference in Portland, Ore., from Aug. 4 to 7.

Apokedak is an associate agent with the Leslie H. Stobbe Literary Agency. As the manager of the Kidz Book Buzz blog tour, she has worked with best-selling and award-winning authors Jeanne DuPrau, Ingrid Law and Shannon Hale. She is also currently the YA contributor to Novel Rocket and teaches at general market and Christian writers conferences across the country.

The Oregon Christian Writers conference brings top national editors, agents and authors together to teach 13 intensive coaching classes and 30 workshops.
