Fein’s viewpoint appreciated

MDJ columnist Dr. Melvyn Fein is articulate and always presents the facts of the matter clearly and well. His presence in our university system, and others like him, gives me encouragement to know that there are still strong, challenging voices who represent a conservative point of view. For any true and valid educational process, students should be presented more than just one-sided information. Critical thinking is not honed or useful for understanding pabulum.

Ms Kemp,

You have but to mention Dr Fein and Foley salivates in his blind hate for the good Professor. He lies in wait for the morning paper and, as I imagine it , opens as quickly as possible to Letters where, if there is an article by Dr Fein, he immediately begins a construct of denial.

Foley's arguments fall flat and when rebutted by other writers are usually followed by support from Buckner or Halle. There are a few alias tags that also inevitably come in which I have long believed are by Foley doing what he faults others for doing- using an alias to support his own points.

Yet he mounts his "whoever you are" pony about this as if expressing oneself anonymously is a crime.

That said, I completely agree with your letter.

Re Foley "mounting his whoever you are pony" --- what a great line!!! Thank you for this cartoonish visual of the liberal leftists in our midst. I'll go there with Halle also. He does that over and over (but at least he signs his name, hahaha).

Ms. Kemp, you confuse uninformed, unsubstantiated, right wing media fueled opinion for intelligent, well researched commentary.

Just because you agree with Fein's notions doesn't make them "fact." Take a look at the on-line comments he received under his latest column.

Leftist elite such as yourself, Foley, don't like it that any university would allow real diversity in their stable of professors. You applaud the censorship even as you mock all sides but your own, your inability to formulate a coherent thought or argument, not to mention your inability to comment originally on local issues (never seen that happen and how many columns have you written?) Keep up the good work as resident Marxist at the MDJ. Be glad you're the best they can do around here to write something of the liberal side.

Kevin- substitute liberal press for Fein and that describes you
