The City of Kennesaw will have a public meeting at 6 p.m. on Aug. 5 at the Ben Robertson Community Center, 2753 Watts Drive in Kennesaw, that will kick off public participation on zoning for the Cherokee Street corridor and the move from conventional zoning codes to design-based codes.

The goal of design-based codes is to focus on shaping the design of the built environment to match what the community is seeking, including building exteriors, building placement on lots and street design. The process has been successfully implemented in Woodstock, Lawrenceville and Milton.

The specific area of focus will be the Cherokee Street corridor from Jiles Road through downtown. The public is encouraged to attend and provide comment.

For further information, contact the city at (770) 590-8268.
