AUSTELL — Cobb police are investigating a fatal crash involving a dump truck in Austell.

According to investigators, the driver of a red 2006 Mack CV700 dump truck failed to maintain his lane while traveling eastbound on Riverside Parkway near Six Flags Road at about 2:30 Thursday afternoon.

After overcorrecting to the right to get back into his lane, the driver then steered to the left, which caused the truck to roll on its side and strike a utility pole, police said.

The driver has been identified as 50-yearold Robert Barth of Marietta. This case remains under investigation and anyone with information about it is asked to call (770) 499- 3987.
