A Marietta man was seriously injured after he crashed into a stopped tractor-trailer on the exit ramp to Delk Road on Interstate 75 on Sunday, according to Marietta police.

Miguel Calvo Zuniga, 29, of Marietta, was driving a 2005 Ford F-150 pickup when he left the roadway and struck the rear of a tractor-trailer stopped in the emergency lane on the east side of exit ramp, according to initial on-scene investigations by police.

Police say the tractor-trailer, owned by Warren, Mich.-based Central Transport LLC, was operated by 24-year-old Kyle Fleming Forbes of Antioch, Tenn.

Zuniga was transported to WellStar Kennestone Hospital and remains in serious but stable condition, police say.

The two right exit lanes were closed for several hours during the investigation, but were later reopened Sunday.

Police say the crash is still under investigation and any possible charges are still pending.

Anyone with information regarding this crash may call Officer Nick Serkedakis at (770) 794-5364.
