Drs. Robert A. Kelly and Douglas W. Lundy of the Kennesaw and Marietta offices of Resurgens Orthopaedics, Georgia’s largest orthopaedic practice, were named to the 2014 list of Top Doctors in the July issue of Atlanta magazine. Six other Resurgens Orthopaedics physicians were also named Top Doctors in the magazine’s July issue — Drs. Erroll J. Bailey, Edward H. Holliger IV, Kenneth J. Kress, Milan Patel, Yvonne E. Satterwhite and Steven B. Wertheim.

Dr. Robert A. Kelly

Kelly practices at the Resurgens Kennesaw, Canton and Woodstock offices. His areas of expertise include arthroscopy, joint replacement and joint resurfacing/ restoration.

He completed his medical degree and his residency at the University of Miami School of Medicine in Miami, Fla., and a sports medicine fellowship at the American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, Ala. He is board certified by the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

He is a member of the American Medical Association, Arthroscopy Association of North America, Georgia Orthopaedic Society, Medical Association of Georgia, Atlanta Orthopaedic Society and Cobb County Medical Society.

He has been honored as a Top Doctor by Atlanta magazine for four consecutive years.

Dr. Douglas W. Lundy

Lundy practices at the Resurgens Marietta and Roswell offices and serves as co-president for the practice.

His areas of expertise include orthopaedic trauma surgery and fracture reconstructive surgery.

He completed his medical degree at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta and his residency at Georgia Baptist Medical Center in Atlanta. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is a member of the American Orthopaedic Association, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Orthopaedic Trauma Association, Georgia Orthopaedic Society, Southeastern Fracture Consortium, ACS Committee on Trauma, AO Alumni Association, Vanderbilt Orthopaedic Society, Christian Medical and Dental Association, Medical Association of Georgia and Atlanta Orthopaedic Society.

He is also a member of the Leadership Atlanta Class of 2010. Lundy is past-chair of the Medical Liability Committee of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, a member of the Council on Advocacy of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, an at-large member of the Board of Directors of the Orthopaedic Trauma Association, and an examiner for the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.

He has been honored as a Top Doctor by Atlanta magazine for three consecutive years.

Castle Connolly Medical Ltd., an established health care research company based in New York, compiles Atlanta magazine’s list of Top Doctors annually. Its physician-led team of researchers selects Top Doctors through a rigorous screening process, including evaluation of education and professional experience. Top Doctors were nominated by both a nationwide survey administered by Castle Connolly and by licensed physicians in Cobb, DeKalb, Fulton, Clayton and Gwinnett counties.

Resurgens Orthopaedics, which has 21 offices and six surgery centers throughout metro Atlanta, has 96 physicians and provides specialized expertise in the areas of sports medicine, joint replacement, neck and back surgery, foot and ankle surgery, shoulder and elbow surgery, non-operative spine care, hand surgery, arthroscopic surgery, epidural steroid injection, general orthopaedics and trauma care.
