Three local churches are joining together to produce the classic play “The Music Man” as a fundraiser for missions. “The Music Man” will be presented July 24, 25, and 26 at 7 p.m., and on July 27 at 2 p.m. at Smyrna First United Methodist Church in Smyrna.

“The Music Man” is a musical about fast-talking traveling salesman Harold Hill as he cons the people of River City, Iowa, into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys’ band he vows to organize — this despite the fact he doesn’t know a trombone from a treble clef. His plans to skip town with the cash are foiled when he falls for Marian the librarian, who transforms him into a respectable citizen by curtain’s fall.

To purchase tickets, call (770) 436-4108, ext 215.

Smyrna First United Methodist Church is at 1315 Concord Road, Smyrna.

Tickets may also be ordered online at www.freedonationkiosk.com//kiosks/KioskUser.aspx/smyrnafumc. For more information about SmyrnaVillage Players, visit www.facebook.com/SmyrnaVillagePlayers.
