The director of Music Ministries at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Marietta has published a book celebrating his wife’s life, and how she lived with God after her recovery from polio, a local book publisher announced this week.

Author Robert “Bob” Fraumann tells the unique story of his wife’s life in his book, “God’s Blessed Angel,” published by Yawn’s Books & More, at 198 North Street in Canton.

Janice Fraumann died in August 2013, her husband said.

Fraumann said he met the woman he was married to for 56 years in college, after she recovered miraculously from polio.

“She wasn’t able to go to public school,” Fraumann said, adding his wife suffered muscle damage to her leg from having polio at age 12.

“Doctors told her she’d never be normal or have children,” he said. “They thought about putting her in an iron lung.”

Janice Fraumann made her prayer to God, asking for healing and promising to dedicate her life to the lord in return, her husband said. The Fraumanns have two sons, Rick and Greg, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

“She prayed and gave her life to God and He healed her in a year,” Fraumann said. “She lived an incredibly wonderful and fulfilled life.”

Because she couldn’t attend public school, Fraumann said his wife attended a private school that allowed her to progress as quickly as she mastered the material.

“She graduated high school at age 15,” he boasted, adding Janice Fraumann finished college and married him at age 18, in 1957.

She started teaching fifth grade by the time she was 19, Fraumann said.

“She put me through graduate school,” he said, noting he earned a master’s in music from Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey.

“God’s Blessed Angel” includes 30 qualifications Janice had for her future husband.

“Somehow, I qualified,” he said, adding his wife had three marriage proposals before his.

Bob and Jan Fraumann are and were the most amazing people I know. I have known them for over 30 years and the way they have lived their lives and continuing to live his life should be the ultimate example that everyone should live by.
