The Georgia Bureau of Investigation and Kennesaw Police Department are investigating a late-night altercation at a Kennesaw bar that left an Atlanta man dead.

Kevin Compton, 27, died Sunday from a single gunshot wound he received the day before, police say.

According to investigators, Kennesaw police responded to reports of a disturbance at Diamond Dave’s bar off Cobb Parkway at 2:42 a.m. Saturday.

Police say their initial investigation revealed a firearm had been discharged during an altercation, striking Compton.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Kennesaw Police Department at 770-422-2505 or the Georgia Bureau of Investigation 1-800-597-TIPS (8477).

Diamond Dave's has always attracted scum. Why the Hell is this place still open? Oh - don't blame Commissioner Goreham for this. Diamond Dave's is in the city of Kennesaw. Must be some money flowin' somewhere, I guess.

Firearm and bars don't mix. First casualty of new law just days after it went into effect.

The same day as the shooting at the Fed Ex in Kennesaw there was news of five gang members arrested in an apartment complex in Acworth and police having a standoff in Kennesaw with a teen with a gun at an extended stay hotel, ie; his home. Now a shooting at a bar in Kennesaw where the people involved retreated to Acworth. Let us thank the powers that be in Acworth and Kennesaw and our illustrious commissioner Gorham for all the cheap apartments, Section 8 housing, and extended stay apartments that become homes for some of the finest people Georgia has to offer. The good news is that Kennesaw is making it easier for MORE apartments so that the people of Franklin Street in Marietta will have a place to relocate to. Pay no attention to the sudden surge in license plates from DeKalb and Fulton and, good lord save us - Clayton county. You folks in positions of responsibility are doing a bang up job in making it easy for undesirables to fill up the area.
