Thomas T. Borden, age 75, of Marietta, passed away at home July 2, 2014. He was a aircraft manuals engineer and quality assurance auditor at Lockheed Martin in Marietta for 20 years before retiring in 1999. He also worked for Daniel International and ESystems, and NASA contractors Bendix and General Electric during the Gemini, Apollo, and SkyLab space programs. Mr. Borden grew up in Detroit, MI and was a graduate of Catholic Central High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force as an aircraft engine mechanic stationed at Ramey AFB, Puerto Rico, and studied mechanical engineering at Florida State University. Survivors include his wife Kay Sarrett Borden of Marietta, daughters Terri (Austin) White of Tampa, FL, Jeanette (John) Lawrenson of Belleair, FL, and Angela Steen of Lutz, FL, grandchildren Brittany and Abby White, J.E. Lawrenson, Gerrit and Avery Steen, and sister Barbara Maise of Northville, MI. His brother Kenneth Borden and parents Thomas and Jennie Borden, all of Dearborn, MI, preceded him in death. Visitation and service will be July 11, 2014 from 10:30 a.m to 12:30 noon, H.M. Patterson and Son Funeral Home, 1157 Old Canton Rd., Marietta, GA 30068. Interment to follow at the Georgia National Cemetery, 1080 Veterans Cemetery Road, Canton, GA 30114, 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The ARC Dearborn, 22450 Park St., Dearborn, MI 48124
