MARIETTA — Police are advising drivers to avoid Powder Springs Road after a 3-vehicle wreck has closed the road in both directions.

The wreck took place about 3 p.m. when a moving truck traveling down Powder Springs Road crossed into the lane of a car traveling in the same direction, according to Officer David Baldwin with Marietta police. The collision forced the car out of its lane and into a utility vehicle that was on the side of the road.

Baldwin said the force of the crash caused the moving truck and the utility vehicle to both flip over. He also said two power poles snapped and spread live electrical wires over the road.

Nobody was killed, Baldwin said, but at least three people were injured. Baldwin said they were transported to WellStar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta. He did not know the extent of their injuries.

Authorities say delays will be extensive and drivers should reroute to Sandtown Road or Booth Road.
