The 20,000-square-foot office is near the intersection of Barrett Parkway and Cobb Parkway in Kennesaw, and it will serve children up to the age of 18.
The underwater-themed WellStar Pediatric Center cost $13 million to construct and decorate. It includes new technology, such as iPads in the waiting area for parents and an interactive projection of swimming fish on the wall for children.
The pediatric doctor’s office will start with one full-time doctor during normal business hours of 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays. The center will also offer care after hours from 5 to 9 p.m. on weekdays, 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
The center has already begun accepting appointments.
