Mrs. Carol Jean Pope Cook, age 73, of Powder Springs, died Tuesday, July 2, 2014. The funeral service will be 11 AM, Monday, July 7th in the Chapel of Carmichael Funeral Home in Marietta with Rev. Clarence Howard and Rev. Brandon Tuck officiating. Interment will be at Sunrise Memorial Park in Douglasville. Mrs. Cook was a lifelong resident of Cobb County. She was a homemaker and Mother. Mrs. Cook was a member of Milford Baptist Church. Mrs. Cook is survived by her husband of 55 years, Bennie A. Cook of Powder Springs; sons & daughters-in-law, Gregory A. & Melanie Cook of Carrollton, Kenneth Scott & Laura Lee Cook of Dallas, daughter & son-in-law, Carol J. & Mark Freeman of Acworth; brothers, Fred C. Pope of Austell, Calvin Wigley of Marietta, Alvin Wigley of Carrollton; sisters, Willadean P. Day of Marietta, Paula Tison of Marietta; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 2 – 4 PM and again from 6 – 8 PM, Sunday, July 6th at Carmichael Funeral Home in Marietta (770) 424-4924.
