The Cobb County Water System reported a sewer overflow occurred in the county Sunday.

A wastewater manhole overflow, resulting in approximately 2,600 gallons discharged into a tributary of Noonday Creek, occurred at 10:36 p.m. at 5096 Farm Valley Drive in northwest Cobb County. The overflow, which was listed as the result of a structural problem, was stopped at 12:45 a.m. on Monday.

Water System workers used a jet machine to unstop the sewer main line and limed the area around the manhole.
