Church, who is a former Kennesaw mayor, used A 24 Hour Bonding in Marietta to pay his $10,000 bond, and he was released from jail at 10:26 a.m. Saturday, according to the jail log.
Church, 66, was arrested at 2:50 a.m. Friday and charged with two counts of felony child molestation.
The councilman did not respond to calls from the Marietta Daily Journal.
Detectives say a 9-year-old boy told his parents Church allegedly showed him pornographic materials on a computer and molested him at the councilman’s home.
Cobb Police Officer Mike Bowman said the case started when the boy came forward Thursday night about the alleged incident. It is unknown if there are other victims at this point. Police did not say if the victim is related to Church.
On Saturday, Bowman said there were no updates on the investigation.
