EAST COBB — Cobb police are warning east Cobb residents there has been a spike in car break-ins in neighborhoods south of Paper Mill Road.

Golf clubs and other sporting equipment were targeted, police say.

The majority of the vehicles were left unlocked and  some incidents involved entering vehicles parked in open garages, authorities say.

Police are asking the public to remember to lock their cars. They are also advising people to leave unnecessary items at home and to place any valuables in the trunk before leaving so would-be thieves don’t see people putting it there.

Anyone with information about these crimes is asked to call (770) 499-4184.
