Marietta City Council appoints new members to groups

MARIETTA — The City Council appointed five new members to three different city groups at its June 11 City Council meeting.

Marietta Mayor Steve Tumlin reappointed two members to the Marietta Housing Authority. Chervonta Pugh was reappointed for a one-year term, which will expire April 29, 2015, and J. Larry Stevens was reappointed to for a five-year term, which will expire May 29, 2019.

The City Council chose Kellie Contreras to represent Ward 6, which covers northeast Marietta, on the Historic Board of Review for a two-year term, which expires June 11, 2016. The council also reappointed Terry Lee to represent Ward 5, which covers central and north Marietta, on the board for a one-year term, which expires June 11, 2015.

The City Council also chose Bobby Vanburen to represent Ward 6, which covers northeast Marietta, on the Board of Zoning Appeals for a two-year term, which will expire June 11, 2016.
