Underground dumpsters not solution for city

I have been following the stories/comments on the trash containers on and around Marietta Square.

One story contained a reference to underground containers. These are monster units, but clever.

While in Florence, Italy, in April 2013, I saw one being serviced. The unit is about the size of a standard Dumpster, but only a 4-foot tall-by-2-foot-square entrance bin is usually visible above the sidewalk. Unfortunately, a huge truck with a crane is required to retrieve the underground portion for servicing!
