KENNESAW — Police are investigating a murder-suicide they say happened Wednesday morning in a Kennesaw townhome.

Investigators believe Michael Le, 58, shot and killed Navy Thuy Yo, 35, before he took his own life in a home on Heritage Park Circle off of Barrett Parkway, just south of Town Center of Cobb mall.

Sgt. Dana Pierce said investigators found the bodies at the home just after 11 a.m. after receiving a 911 call.

Neighbor Zach Shackleford, a Georgia State University graduate student, said he didn’t know the deceased couple, but said they weren’t home often.

He said he believed teenage neighbors called the police after hearing gunshots.

“There were three or four teenagers sitting over there,” he said pointing across the street. “But detectives took them around the corner when the medical examiner got here,” which Shackleford said was at about 1 or 1:30 p.m.

“We had no idea what was going on until they took a gurney inside the house,” he said.

The Cobb County Medical Examiner’s Office has assumed jurisdiction of the bodies and is expected to confirm the manner and cause of death.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call (770) 499-3945.
