Aurelio’s Pizza Marietta, 1255 Johnson Ferry Road in Marietta, announced it will celebrate its third anniversary June 27 to 28.

Owner Paul Vitt, who opened the first and only Aurelio’s Pizza in June 2011, has been eating Aurelio’s Pizza since it opened in 1959 on Chicago’s South side in Homewood, Ill. Vitt’s lifelong love affair with the iconic pizza began when Aurelio’s founder Joe Aurelio Jr. offered Homewood little leaguers sausage pizza coupons for home runs. Relocating to Atlanta with his wife, Vitt decided to become a restaurateur and bring the iconic pizza to transplanted Chicagoans and those passionate about Chicago-style pizza.

The anniversary celebration will include specials for $20.11, free ice cream or cookies for dessert and a balloon artist for children. Aurelio’s will also host a Facebook contest and one lucky winner will win free Aurelio’s pizza for a year. Entry forms are available at https://www.facebook.com/AureliosIsPizzaMarietta.
