Cobb Commission Chairman Tim Lee and members of the Cobb Chamber are planning to be present at a dedication ceremony Thursday for a program meant to help the homeless, especially veterans and people with disabilities.

RescueRepurpose-Redeem, at 6289 Veterans Memorial Highway, Building 12-A in Austell will officially be open for business after a ribbon-cutting scheduled from 2 to 5 p.m.

RescueRepurpose-Redeem offers job training, skill enhancements and education in all aspects of business management, according to a release from Sweetwater Mission — a coalition of local churches, businesses, civic groups and individuals — which is behind the venture.

According to RescueRepurpose-Redeem’s website, the organization generates income through the sale of rescued and repurposed items, including tote bags, jewelry, billfolds and handmade note cards.

For more information about the program, visit www.RescueRepurpose Redeem.org or contact Stephanie McKay at (678) 488-8371.
