Mrs. Emily Billie Wickham, of Marietta, GA, passed away peacefully Thursday, June 5, 2014. She was 99. Mrs. Wickham was born November 14, 1914, Long Island, NY, to Johan Peter Holm and Emelia Nelson Holm. She was a loving wife, mother and Mema. Mrs. Wickham is preceded in death by her parents, her eight brothers and sisters, and her husband of 63 years, Robert S. (Sam) Wickham. She is survived by her children, Leah Wickham, Marietta, GA; Hilton Wickham (Cindy), Franklin, TN; Nancy Smith (John), Kennesaw, GA; five grandchildren, Amanda Dixon (Shane), Madeline Wickham, Valerie Aseff (Thomas), Austin Smith, and Emily-Cathryn Smith, nieces and nephews. Emily was an accomplished artist and seamstress, and won prizes for her floral arrangements and sewing. She was a long time member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and served on many committees over the years. She was a Cub Scout and Girl Scout leader, and supported her children and grandchildren in all their interests. She was witty, and left us with her many stories, her wonderful hospitality, her care and generosity, kindness to friend and stranger alike, and her sense of adventure and world travel. Emily will be dearly missed by her beloved family and friends. She profoundly influenced those who knew her, particularly her children and grandchildren. They are her legacy. The family will hold a private service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Young at Hearts group, Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 2922 Sandy Plains Rd., Marietta, GA 30066.
