State Rep. Stacey Evans (D-Smyrna) will deliver the guest commencement address June 7 to nearly 325 local graduates of Saint Leo University’s at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center in the Cumberland area.

Most of the students will receive associate and bachelor’s degrees, while 80 students will receive master’s degrees in business administration, criminal justice, education and social work. Morrow Education Center students Angie Williams, who earned her Bachelor of Arts in human services; and Pearlie McKinzie, who earned her Bachelor of Arts in criminal justice/homeland security, will deliver the farewell address. Bettina Sellers will offer the alumni welcome and assist in the traditional turning of the tassels.

Saint Leo University’s Atlanta region includes adult education centers in Duluth, Marietta and Morrow. The university is a regionally accredited, liberal-arts-based institution known for an inclusive Catholic heritage and was chartered in 1889 by Catholic Benedictine monks in rural Pasco County, Fla. It has more than 40 teaching locations in seven states.
