Police have called for the arrest of a Marietta man accused of committing a hit-and-run while using a car he hijacked during a drug deal.

Police say Allen Dewaune Hutchinson met his victim at a QuikTrip gas station off South Marietta Parkway on the evening of May 16, police say, to sell him a small amount of marijuana.

Investigators say he then produced a handgun and forced the victim out of his 2005 Kia Sorento before other suspects piled into the car.

Upon fleeing the scene via Fairground Street, police say Hutchinson struck a moving vehicle on South Cobb Drive and sped off.

According to an arrest warrant, Hutchinson later stopped the stolen car and ran away on foot.

Investigators say they found 28 grams of suspected marijuana and digital scales at the scene.

Hutchinson has been charged with hijacking, misdemeanor hit-and-run and intent to distribute marijuana.
