This summer, the Kennesaw Parks & Recreation Department, in partnership with the Cobb Schools Foundation, invite local students to share their love about a park in the second annual PIG TALES Writing Competition. The contest is open to all students in grades K-8 attending any public, private, or home school in Cobb County.

Students are invited to write a short story or essay, in 750 words or less, about what makes their all-time favorite park special. Students can also choose to write about their plans to visit a state or national park this summer.

Submissions may be typed or handwritten and must be submitted by mail postmarked by Aug. 8 to Cobb Schools Foundation, Attention: Sheri Brante, 514 Glover St., Marietta, GA 30060.

For complete rules and information on how to enter, visit www.pigsandpeaches.com/pigtales.
