Anti-Michelle ‘nanny’ comments out of bounds

DEAR EDITOR:

Definition of a nanny: (noun) “A person, typically a woman, employed to care for a child in its own home.”

Michele Obama’s role in the White House does not fit this description.

The MDJ story on “Smart Snack law” was very informative and most of us I think agree that the government should not be in the business of telling us what to eat.

My disappointment in the article comes from runoff candidates blaming First Lady Michelle Obama for a government-passed law.

What an affront to us to have a person running for national office to call the first lady a “nanny.” To call the unelected, unaccountable Michelle “the first nanny” speaks to mean spirited and uncalled for comments.

Michelle Obama epitomizes a wife, mother and great first lady. Her approval ratings all over the world attest to that. An unnecessary foul on this.

The frozen pizza and frozen French fry industries wants your kids to eat their junk at school, as if you aren't already feeding them enough crap at home.

The evil capitalist pigs supplying the frozen pizza and frozen fries are only in it for the profit. Yes, it's true.

However, the industries that are now supplying the healthy crap are NOT in it for the profit? They are donating their products? Their motives are purely philanthropic, right? They are doing it for the, CHILDREN, right?

Is that what you're saying?

You miss the entire point CobbCoGuy, it's about healthy food, preventing obesity and diabetes in children, surely even you can understand the difference!

Which world is that you live in?? My observations indicate that Ms. Obama is far from being idolized as a mother or a First Lady.

Of course, it was silly to say that she passed a law, but that is the effecr=t she has on people that you deny.

It doesn't matter what First Lady Michelle Obama and President Obama say or do.

They will continue to get criticized by the fanatical, ultra-conservative, Republicans and entities. I'm glad President Obama and Michelle have developed "thick skin", since they've been disrespected since day one.

I agree with you, Ms. Bonner.

"First Lady" indeed.

The FACT is that I rather resent anyone with a butt the size of her's telling me what I should, or should not, eat!
