DEAR EDITOR:

Thanks for printing the letter from Joe O’Connor on Friday (“Cobb residents being ‘gamed’ by Lee, Braves”). It is the most accurate description of the state of the Cobb County Commission I have ever heard.

See, the taxpayers do not have a voice in what is happening in our county. That was vividly shown when the opponents were not permitted to speak, even escorted out of the meeting.

I personally like the idea of the Braves coming to Cobb County, but I do not think taxpayer funds should be used to finance private business, especially when it is ramrodded through without any transparency.

Au Contraire! Taxpayers DO have a voice in what is happening in our county. It's called Election Day and you get vote for (or against) any candidate you choose. Pretty powerful voice, I think.

Not everybody wins in an election. We all have a voice and a vote. The problme is that 50.001% can shut out the voices of 49.999%
