Wayne A. Morrison, founding partner at Cumberland-based Hedgepeth, Heredia, Crumrine & Morrison, was named president of the Cobb County Bar Association Family Law Section. Organized to promote excellence and professionalism among Family Law practitioners in Cobb County, the section also fosters collegiality between judges and attorneys, which extends to courtrooms and mediation sessions.
Morrison practices in all areas of family law, including divorce and separation, and is an experienced guardian ad litem, advising courts on matters concerning the interests of children. His honors, recognitions and community service include Atlanta magazine “Super Lawyer,” member of the Executive Committee at Charles Longstreet Weltner Family Law Inn of Court, member of the Family Law Sections of the State Bar of Georgia, member of The Atlanta Bar and The Cobb County Bar Associations.
He has also served as a guest speaker on radio talk shows, discussing recent developments in family law. He is admitted to practice in the Georgia Court of Appeals, Georgia Supreme Court, U.S. District Court (Northern District of Georgia) and the 11th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals.
He earned a bachelor of science degree in finance from Virginia Tech in 1989 and a juris doctorate from the University of Georgia in 1996. Prior to law school, he was a financial analyst for a Fortune 500 company, where he analyzed and audited financial statements, an experience that enhances his ability to comprehend complex business valuations and to understand tracing of commingled funds.
