“Just being involved in the interview process and qualifying for the award has been really valuable and totally worthwhile. It has proven to be a very motivating and rewarding experience for me,” DiGregorio said. “I’ve been humbled and inspired by how much pride my team has shown for me and our company. They are all so happy about me being a finalist. It only reinforces my faith and belief in our ability as a ‘true team’ to make our business continue to grow in a big way.”
Nominees for this year’s ceremony are grouped into three different categories based on experience — an Experienced Entrepreneur, with seven or more years of experience; an Emerging Entrepreneur, with three to seven years of experience; and an Early Stage Entrepreneur, with one to three years experience.
With more than 20 years of experience, DiGregorio was nominated for the Experienced Entrepreneur category. He is one of only five finalists out of the more than 100 applicants.
Applicants were first required to answer questions regarding being a businessperson. Forty of the applicants were then selected to conduct a three-minute elevator speech. Finally, 20 applicants were selected to move on to the final round which included a question and answer session.
For more than 28 years, the Metro Atlanta Chamber and the Atlanta Business Chronicle have recognized the area’s top start-ups and entrepreneurs at the Business Person of the Year awards luncheon.
This year’s luncheon will be June 6 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at The Ritz-Carlton in Atlanta.
