Marietta Police say two men wanted for robbing a bank two weeks ago are in the custody of the Douglas County jail. Marietta Police responded to the scene of a bank robbery at 9:40 a.m. on May 1 at the SunTrust Bank on Sandy Plains Road, north of Marietta near the Publix grocery store west of Scufflegrit Road. According to the warrant, Christopher Andrews of Marietta placed a black semi-automatic handgun at the back of a women’s head before jumping on the counter and pointing the gun at the teller.

“(Andrews) then reached into the teller’s drawer and took (the money) and fled the bank,” the warrant said.

The day of the robbery, Officer
David Baldwin of the Marietta Police Department said Andrews was wearing all black clothing, including a hoodie and a dark blue bandanna wrapped around his face.

No shots were fired, and no one was injured, Baldwin said.

Officers were able to track muddy footprints they say were left by Andrews a half a block away to where Marietta Police believe he had a car waiting, Baldwin said.

According to the warrant,
Quinton Wilson of Atlanta also faces felony charges of armed robbery and aggravated assault after admitting to a Douglasville Police detective he drove Andrews to the bank. “(Wilson) admitted to waiting for Andrews after the robbery and leaving the area with Andrews in the vehicle,” the warrant said.
