A.L. Burruss Elementary seeks IB status

A.L. Burruss Elementary received word May 5 from International Baccalaureate it will be recognized as a candidate school for the Primary Years Programme as of Sept. 1, 2014. The school seeks to achieve full authorization and join a group of schools offering the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme.

The A.L. Burruss School Governance Team actively researched the benefits of the IB PYP throughout the 2012-13 school year and voted on March 20, 2014, to submit an application for candidacy. The PYP is one of three programs offered by the International Baccalaureate Organization.
