Fifth Third Bank’s Georgia locations, which include several locations in the Marietta and Kennesaw area, recently wrapped up its two week-long Strike Out Hunger! campaign, which will help feed Atlanta-area families in need with nearly 1,000 pounds of non-perishable food items.

The bank went to bat with three local baseball teams — the Kennesaw State University Owls, the Gwinnett Braves and the Augusta GreenJackets — and provided baseball game tickets to those who made a contribution to the food drive, courtesy of this year’s partners.

The food drive ran from April 18 to May 3, coming to a close on Fifth Third’s annual “Fifth Third Day” celebration. For more than 20 years, the bank has used its 5/3 calendar holiday to recognize the contribution of employees, thank customers and support communities where it operates. After the food drive, Fifth Third delivered all donations to the Atlanta Community Food Bank and the Golden Harvest Food Bank.

Fifth Third Bank collected food at all 32 financial centers in the Cobb, Columbia, DeKalb, Fulton, Gwinnett, Richmond and Walton counties.

Fifth Third Bancorp, a diversified financial services company headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, has $130 billion in assets and operates 17 affiliates with 1,320 full-service banking centers, including 104 Bank Mart locations.
