J.B. Parrott, age 90, of Palmetto, GA, passed away Saturday, May 10, 2014, at his residence. He was born in Gainesville, Georgia, to Polly Smith Parrott and Richard Parrott. He served in the US Army during WWII and was a brick mason with Holder Construction. He was preceded in death by a son, Richard Parrot, a brother, William Harry Parrott, and sisters, Virginia Quinton and Inell Warr. Survivors include: his wife, Mary Elizabeth Gammons Parrott; daughters, Debra (Donnie) Green of Powder Springs and Janice Alexander of Winston; sons, Gary (Janice) Parrott of Winston, Bobby (Nancy) Parrott and Lewis (Alicia) Parrott, of Dallas, Larry Parrott of Atlanta, Terry (Bridgette) Parrott of Ellijay, Barry Parrott of Marietta, Roy Lee (Vicky) Alexander of Blairsville, and Wayne Alexander of Winston; twenty-one grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Monday, May 12, 2014, in the chapel of Holly Hill Funeral Home, 431 SW Broad Street, Fairburn, GA, at 2:00 p.m. Dr. Gene Tyre officiated. Internment followed at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery, Palmetto, GA.
