It is unusual for me to be applauding a column by Cal Thomas, since our political views are often at opposite ends of the spectrum, but applaud him I do for his column, “Higher power takes dim view of public prayer.” Thomas makes a solid case for the meaninglessness of any prayer that can withstand a constitutional challenge. He appropriately cites the scriptures where Jesus defines the kind of praying that pleases The Father.

We all need to go into “into our rooms,” and pray in our chosen manner, and then practice our beliefs in the way we conduct our public activities.
