Margaret Page Culbertson, 82, of Marietta, died Friday, May 9, 2014. A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 16, 2014, at St. James Episcopal Cemetery in Marietta. Margaret Rose, known as Mae to her close friends and family, was born in Marietta, graduate of Marietta High School and held a B.S. in Home Economics from Sullins College in Bristol, Virginia. She was a faithful wife, committed mother, and a generous grandmother to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She lived in several places across the U.S. and South America, making lasting friendships everywhere she went. Being an exemplary socialite with a giving heart, Margaret stayed abreast with her friends’ and families’ affairs, always seeking to improve the lives around her. Her memory will be of the strength, perseverance, and pride within her spirit and of her fierce love for her friends and family. Ms. Culbertson is survived by her husband, Thomas Wade Culbertson, Sr.; two sons, Thomas Wade Culbertson, Jr. of Shreveport, LA, Robbert Page Culbertson of Thomson, GA; one sister, Nancy Sue Page Saubrey of Pensacola, FL; four grandchildren, Lauren Nicole Culbertson, Thomas Wade Culbertson III, Victoria Page Culbertson, Mariam Christina Wilson; five great grandchildren, Thomas Wade Culbertson IV, Charles Brandon Wilson, Jr., Mary Margaret Wilson, James Robert Wilson, Jerry David Thomas Wilson; several nieces and nephews. Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home & Crematory in Marietta is in charge of the arrangements.
