Austell Police say Thomas brought a forged check to the Community Bank of the South made out to himself for $1,114.13.

According to the warrant, the bank teller recognized the check he presented was for the Market Bag Company’s account, which she is very familiar with.

Police say the teller knew the Market Bag Company’s checks have a yellow background, and the check Thomas presented had a blue background.

Police say Brown contacted the police and Thomas fled the bank, leaving his identification card and Social Security Card behind.

According to the warrant, Thomas fled to a convenience store nearby, where Austell Police found him. He is still in custody at the Smyrna City Jail.
