Mrs. Sara Collins Culley (Pan) of Powder Springs passed away on Monday, April 28, 2014 at the age of one hundred and nine months.  Born July 27, 1913 in Pocomoke City, MD, she was the daughter of Riley and Ruth Collins.  She was preceded in death by her son, Allen Jones Culley III, (Buzzy) and her husband, Allen Jones Culley, Sr. Surviving family members are her daughter and her husband, Gerry and Jim McCloud; grandchildren, Jim McCloud, Jr., (Debbie), Stacey McCloud Newsome, and Allen Culley McCloud; great grandchildren; Barrett Barnes, Kaylyn Hoptroff, (Tyler), Culley McCloud, Erin McCloud, Paden McCloud, Zach Newsome, Nichole Newsome, and Lyndi McCloud; great-great grandchildren, Hensley and Hunter Hoptroff; brother, Richard Collins, (Joan), of Yardley, PA; cousin, Lola Ricks of Exmore, VA. and their families. Pan loved antiquing, coin collecting, sewing (she made every gown her daughter wore in high school and college) and was a talented painter.  Babysitting the grands was her favorite thing to do, also, one of her favorite things to do was watching the Braves play. Pan retired in 1972 from Lockheed and she and Allen enjoyed many years of traveling the United States, Alaska and Canada, via RV, finally settling in Harlingen, TX. for the winter months and returning to Marietta for the summer months where they lived in the McCloud Family Compound.  There she resided for her later years among her devoted family enjoying birthdays, holidays and other good times.  Pan loved to play cards and enjoyed playing with friends at the West Cobb Senior Center.  At the age of 100 she decided it was time for assisted living and moved to Aspen Village in Dallas where she lived until her death. Pan was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.  A Graveside Service will be held at Kennesaw Memorial Cemetery on Friday, May 2 at 11:00 a.m. with Deacon Bruce officiating.  Visitation will be held one hour before (10:00 a.m.) at the graveside. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to our Lady of Perpetual Help, 760 Pollard Blvd, SW, Atlanta 30315. Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home in Marietta will be handling the arrangements. 770-428-1511.
