The Cobb County Water System reported Monday three sewer overflows in the county.

A wastewater manhole overflow, resulting in 490 gallons being discharged into Sope Creek, occurred at 3:05 p.m. Saturday at 27 Gant Quarters Terrace in Marietta. The overflow was stopped at 4:20 p.m. by flushing the mainline with a jet machine that unstopped the blockage caused by roots.

A second overflow, resulting in 380 gallons discharged into a tributary of Lake Acworth, occurred at 12:41 p.m. Saturday at 4236 Carillon Trace in Kennesaw. The overflow was stopped at 1:40 p.m. by flushing the mainline with a jet machine that cleared roots and grease.

The third overflow, resulting in 330 gallons discharged into East Lake, occurred at 5:35 p.m. Saturday at 2100 Roswell Road in Marietta. The overflow was stopped at 6:30 p.m. when the main was unstopped, which relieved blockage for a 6-inch cleanout.
