Kathleen Wiley, who lives off Six Flags Road in Austell, is facing three first-degree felony counts of cruelty to children with excessive physical or mental pain.
According to the warrant, Wiley struck her 11-year-old daughter repeatedly with a hard plastic stick — described as a PVC pipe — leaving extensive welts, bruises, open lacerations on the child’s legs, back of knees, arms, buttocks and back.
“The injuries did cause the child physical and mental pain to the point that it went well past corporal punishment and into cruel and unusual punishment,” the warrant said.
Cobb Police say Wiley also struck her 7-year-old and 5-year-old daughters repeatedly with a belt on their legs, back and buttocks.
Wiley was granted a $30,000 bond, but has not been released from the Cobb Jail.
Joseph Williams, who was listed as living at the same residence, was arrested Wednesday morning. He faces two felony counts of first-degree cruelty to children with excessive physical or mental pain, warrants say.
Williams was granted a $50,000 bond, but has not been released from the Cobb Jail.
