Police have arrested a man they say fell asleep behind the wheel at a traffic light.

According to a warrant, Lamar Roosevelt McFarland, of Acworth, has been charged with felony possession of a controlled substance and several misdemeanors, including driving under the influence.

According to the arrest warrant, McFarland was found in the left turn lane on Ellison Lakes Drive at the intersection of Cobb Parkway in Kennesaw and had fallen asleep behind the wheel, sitting through several cycles of the traffic light. Police say three vehicles were stopped behind him.

According to the warrant, McFarland was unable to maintain his balance, had slurred speech and was “under the influence of drugs.”

After being taken to the Acworth jail, police say they found a single 2 milligram pill of Alphrazolam, an anxiety medication, which resulted in a felony possession charge. McFarland is also charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana after police say they found 6.7 grams of suspected marijuana in a small plastic bag on his person.

McFarland remains in the Cobb County jail without bond.

I wonder if this guy will get off like Hosea Williams did for doing the exact same thing?
