An Austell man was given $60,000 bond after reportedly striking another man with a ball joint.

Salim Disu, born 1985, was charged with hitting another man with the car part — a two-foot metal rod with partially rounded endings — on Royal Industrial Boulevard in Austell. The reported aggravated battery happened April 19.

According to police, the victim was hit on the forehead and was taken to the emergency room bleeding heavily from the wound. He needed 20 stitches and was also examined for other head injuries.
