Cobb Police report that a Smyrna woman died in a car wreck at the intersection of Macland and John Ward roads at 1:31 p.m. on Monday in Marietta.

As Judy Williams, 58, of Hapeville, approached the John Ward Road intersection traveling westbound on Macland Road in a white 1993 Toyota Camry, Ray Eichenlaub, 82, of Marietta, was traveling eastbound on Macland Road in a white 2011 Toyota Sienna.

Police say for unknown reasons, Eichenlaub turned left onto northbound John Ward Road into the path of the Williams’ Camry. After the Camry struck the passenger side of the Eichenlaub’s Sienna, it continued through the intersection where it struck a 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by Candice White, 37, of Powder Springs.

Williams’ front-seat passenger, Bobbie Jean Casey, 80, of Smyrna, was transported by ambulance to the Atlanta Medical Center where she died as a result of the injures, said Cobb Police Sgt. Dana Pierce.

The others involved in the wreck were not reportedly injured.

Investigators expect to file charges and anyone with information is asked to call (770) 499-3987.
