A Smyrna police officer shot a Taser stun gun at a man who was being arrested on charges of public drunkenness, according to an arrest warrant.

Police say the man, Alonzo Francois Humphries, tossed the officer’s handcuffs across a parking lot while being taken into custody, prompting the officer to shoot him with the Taser, according to the warrant.

Humphries is charged with misdemeanor obstruction and has been released on $1,000 bond.
