Powder Springs performer to sing May 10

Catchet Burke, a freshman from Powder Springs, performs in the Gospel Choir Concert at McDaniel College in Maryland on May 10 at 7:30 p.m. The performance, which is free and open to the public, will be in WMC Alumni Hall.

McDaniel College’s Gospel Choir, under the direction of Shelley Ensor, music lecturer, performs a program of spirituals, as well as traditional and contemporary gospel music.

The program includes Hezekiah Walker’s “This is the Gospel of Jesus Christ,” Gamble and Huff and McFadden and Whitehead’s “I’ll Always Love My Mama,” Keith Pringle’s “Call Him Up,” Pete Seeger’s “We Shall Overcome,” among others.
