Cobb Police say a man died in a car wreck Monday morning on Sandy Plains Road in Marietta.

Kevin Palmer, 57, of Marietta, was headed northbound on Sandy Plains Road at 9:12 a.m. in a silver 2003 Honda Accord when he attempted to turn left onto Wigley Road.

Police say Palmer turned and was struck by a brown 2013 Freightliner box truck driven by Philippe Pilon, 38, of Alpharetta.

Pilon was headed southbound on Sandy Plains Road.

After striking Palmer’s Honda on the passenger side door, the truck and Honda moved to the southwest corner of the intersection, where the truck struck a white 2007 Chevrolet Silverado truck driven by Frank Langley, 63, of Acworth.

Palmer was taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Pilon was taken to Kennestone with injuries that were not life threatening.

Langley did not require medical attention at the scene.

Cobb Police Sgt. Dana Pierce said no criminal charges are expected to be filed. Anyone with information is asked to call (770) 499-3987.
