Cobb Police are investigating an attempted assault that occurred March 29 on Gaydon Road near Sassafrass Lane in Powder Springs.

According to police, a teenage girl was jogging along Gaydon Road at about 4:30 p.m. when she was approached from behind by a man. She told investigators the suspect ran toward her and she pushed him away. She said the man then ran to a waiting four door pickup truck and got into the back seat. The vehicle sped away on Gaydon Road.

The pickup truck is described by police as a newer model four-door Dodge Ram 1500 with dark tinted windows and a Georgia tag.

The suspect is described as a white man about 18 to 20 years old. He is approximately 6 feet tall and weighs 150 pounds.

He was last seen wearing gym shorts and a hoodie.

Police released a composite sketch Thursday afternoon of the suspect completed by a GBI forensic artist.

Anyone who may have information that may assist investigators with this incident is asked to contact the Cobb County Police Department’s Crimes Against Children’s Unit at (770) 801-3470.
